GroDev
Custom 3D configurators for manufacturers

Custom 3D configurators your customers build themselves.

Your product, configured and priced live in the browser on your rules, wired into your ERP. The code is yours.

3D pergola configurator: anthracite frame, adjustable louvres and sliding glass, with dimensions and live pricing ● live product, built by GroDev
You own the code Senior EU developer, no agency layer No subscription, pay once GDPR, EU servers
Ten live demos, no sign-up

Click one and build it yourself.

Each runs live on its own subdomain. Change the options, watch the price update, on desktop or phone. These are ten of my own demonstrators, across ten industries, so the mechanics stop being a promise before you pay for them. Your product is not among them? That is the point. I build a configurator for any product sold in many variants, yours included.

Two go further than a configurator.

Not one screen for one person. These serve several roles at once and carry a project from the first click to approval, a configurator that enters the sales process.

● live systemModular Studio: trade-fair hall map with plots, sales status and a selected-plot card
Modular Studio

Trade-fair floor space

The exhibitor picks a plot and designs the stand from a module catalogue; the organiser watches hall occupancy and revenue live, every decision logged instead of lost in an inbox.

● live systemFactory3D: production cell layout with conveyors, a robot and a safety fence, device library and pricing
Factory3D

Visual CPQ for machine builders

The customer lays out a production cell from conveyors, a robot and a case packer, with collision and safety-zone checks, a throughput simulation and a priced bill of materials. Engineering gets a starting point, not an empty enquiry.

What a custom configurator costs.

A fixed price after a short call, not a range with a hidden "from". Ballpark, so you can judge fit before we talk.

Essential
from €15,000

A custom 3D configurator for one product line: real-time 3D, server-side live pricing, mobile-tuned, lead or cart output.

Professional
€25,000 to €45,000

Full 3D with a variant catalogue, dependency rules, an admin panel your staff run themselves, and shop or ERP integration.

Enterprise
from €60,000

Multi-brand or an operator portal, deep ERP and PIM integration, custom logic and simulations. The Modular Studio or Factory3D class.

For reference: specialist Three.js and WebGL agencies typically quote €15,000 to 50,000+ per project, and enterprise builds run well past €100,000. Against an off-the-shelf SaaS at €8,000 to 100,000 per year, a one-off build usually pays for itself inside 12 to 24 months, then it is an asset you own instead of rent.

Buy a SaaS, or build your own.

Honest version: if the configurator only has to show the product, buy a SaaS and do not overpay. If it has to understand it, your pricing, your variant rules, your ERP, you build custom and stop paying rent on your own tool.

A European studio, not an agency layer.

One senior developer, start to finish

No account manager, no handoff, no telephone game. You talk to the person who designs, codes and ships it. One email address owns the result.

UTC+1, GDPR, EU servers

The same working day as DACH and Western Europe, with overlap into the UK and the US East Coast. Data stays on EU servers, GDPR by default, invoices in EUR or your currency.

The configurator

Real-time 3D in the browser (Three.js / WebGL), your options and dependency rules, live price, tuned for mobile GPUs.

Server-side quote engine

Price and lead time computed on the server from the raw configuration. The customer gets a quote with a reference id.

Admin panel

Your staff edit products, options, prices and rules without a developer. Laravel and Filament back-office.

Integration

The configuration flows into your ERP, CRM or shop as an order or a lead. SAP, custom ERP, WooCommerce, Shopify.

Questions buyers ask first.

How much does a custom 3D configurator cost? +
From €15,000 for one product line with real-time 3D and live pricing. €25,000 to 45,000 with a variant catalogue, dependency rules and an admin panel. From €60,000 for a multi-brand or operator portal with deep ERP integration. A fixed price after a call, not a range with a hidden "from". Against an enterprise SaaS at €8,000 to 100,000 per year, a one-off build usually pays for itself inside 12 to 24 months.
Where do the 3D models come from? +
If you have CAD or 3D files, we use them. If not, I build simplified parametric models (great for furniture, joinery, packaging) or combine photos with a 2D configuration where full 3D is not worth the cost.
Who owns the code, and is it GDPR-compliant? +
The code is yours: your repository, your hosting, no licence to use your own tool. Customer data and orders live in your database in the EU, GDPR by default. No commission on orders, no dependency on my server. You can take it to another developer any time.
Can you integrate with my ERP and shop? +
Yes: SAP, a custom ERP, PIM, WooCommerce, Shopify, PrestaShop, or a clean page that emails the order or pushes it to your CRM. The finished configuration enters the cart with a full spec, or arrives as a lead.
Can I start with a paid pilot? +
Yes. One product from your catalogue, real SKU, real pricing rules, a working configurator in the browser within three weeks. The pilot fee counts toward the full build if we continue, and the pilot code is yours either way.
Why computed server-side and not in the browser? +
Because your wholesale tiers and margins must not be visible in devtools or editable by the customer. Configurators that price purely in JavaScript have that problem by design. The browser shows the result; the server owns the number.

Tell me what you sell.

A short note on your product and its options is enough. I reply within 48h with a fixed quote and a timeline, or an honest "this is not for me".
